Becoming a Reporter
Have a disability and looking to get involved? Become a United By Media reporter.
The events that United By Media Reporters can cover are only limited by the imagination.
How does one become a reporter?
Simple. Either fill out the attached form and we will contact you. Or give us a call (503) 960-4683. We will meet with you and talk about what you are interested in, what you would like to see or who you would like to meet. We will also develop a plan for how you will cover events for us. Will you be attending with a parent or family member? Do you have a staff member who will be attending with you? Or do you need a trained and background checked volunteer to attend with you? After that, it’s simply a matter of getting press passes to events in your areas of interest going and having fun.
Do I need to be a good speaker or good at asking questions?
At United By Media, we help you find your voice. We also have reporters who don’t speak but rather point to pictures or questions when conducting an interview. We believe that everyone needs to be heard and we will help make it happen.
What happens after I do my interview?
Your work will go on our website and be promoted on social media. We want to make sure that as many people see the great work you do as possible. We will ask for your help in compiling a list of friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, anyone you know who would enjoy seeing your work.
